Friday Cocktails – September 10, 2021

Sep. 10, 2021

sept 3 Friday Cocktails- Rita Reviews

It’s Friday again and time for Friday Cocktails! This week has been busy but a good one. I spent last weekend and most of this week out of town due to Jeepfest. It is a huge jeeping event that my brother attends every single year. They love it and I am house sitting while they attend. I don’t normally attend this as they are the more experience Jeep people and will climb areas that freak me out. What it does mean is a few days away to relax and enjoy things.

I do have a huge conference that I will be attending next week and then another event the week after. That means traveling for me while the family is at home. I don’t travel often for work but when I do it seems like it is a lot at once, although I will admit that this year there is a bit more going on after having nothing but Zoom meetings last year. Everyone is wanting to get in touch with everyone else face to face. I am being careful and making sure I don’t have a relapse or anything.

5 FINDS THIS WEEK

5 Finds This Week at Rita Reviews

This week I thought I would share a few of my favorite cookbooks. Some I have had for a while and others are newer additions. You can click any of the images to go to the items on Amazon. I love shopping on Amazon and you can find all of the items on my various lists here. I add to them all the time so be sure to check often.

this is one of my favorite cookbooks for so many reasons! I love both the books and the show and the recipes in here are tried and true. I make them often, although I am learning to adapt them to my new lifestyle.

This is a great way to start the day. There are recipes and devotionals that help me get the day started on the right foot. I wasn’t sure that I would like this to begin with but after reading a few pages I knew it was for me.

I mean come on…it’s Stanley Tucci! He broke the internet with a drink recipe so getting his book was a must in my opinion. I love his passion for food and I swear I wish I could eat at his table.

I never know what to make for an outdoor bbq. I mean other than the same old things that everyone always makes. So this is the book that I turn to when I want to do something different but still good.

My grandmother gave me her set of these books years ago. She had so many handwritten notes in them. They are my most beloved cookbooks and if you look in mine you will find my notes right next to Granny’s. If you don’t have these I highly recommend them and I always say spend the money on the hardcover of these. They will stay with you for generations and Julia Child will teach so much about cooking.

Well friends, we’ve made it to the last day of July, and I have to admit I’m not entirely sure how that happened. It seems like just yesterday we were talking about Memorial Day, trying to decide whether it was finally warm enough to call it summer. Now here we are staring down August, wondering…

Market crashes don’t usually start with a neat headline. They start with a drop you notice on your super balance, a news alert at breakfast, and that tight feeling that maybe you should have sold last week. Plenty of capable people in Australia know they should stay invested, yet still refresh portfolio apps at midnight…

Lemon Herb Grilled Chicken with Summer Vegetables By the time late July arrives, I’ve usually reached my limit with heavy meals. The casseroles that sounded comforting back in January suddenly feel overwhelming. Even some of my favorite comfort foods lose their appeal when it’s ninety-five degrees outside and the humidity makes stepping onto the porch…

NOT ready for fall, it is always so wet here during the fall and still so hot. The humidity is terrible. I guess it is not all of fall that I dread but then middle and end of September, then it is usually ok. Crisp sweater weather and I am in NY so good apple cider everywhere.
