Get Ready For The Fancy Dress Ball

Don’t you just love the sound of the name, Fancy Dress Ball? It sounds so much more nicer than “Hey let’s go to a costume party.” Which is how it would be said here in the States. The best thing about going to a Fancy Dress Ball is that you get to wear a fancy dress costume which is something more than just or basic costume.

At least in my mind you do. It has to be more than a ghost or dressing yourself as a shower. I imagine that you would choose something like a Victorian Era dress or something that just makes a statement. I always wanted to have a Fancy Dress Ball but I can just see saying that to hubby. I mean after I got done explaining what it was I would have to explain why I wanted to have one. After that explaining to my Southern family that no they could not come as God only knows what, well you get the idea.

My ideal ball though would be everyone dressed as famous aristocrats such as Marie Antoinette. There would be plenty of dancing and food like what was eaten during that time (if possible.) I would have to have in a ballroom or at least move all the furniture out of my living room so it would look bigger (and line the walls with mirrors.) Doesn’t that just sound like fun? It does to me but hey I love watching British movies as well. I can just see hubby in tights and a gray wig and I promise that if I ever manage to get him to dress like that I will post pictures.
