I Need a New Roof!

Feb. 13, 2017

Yep I need a new roof and talk about wanting to pull your hair out. After the last storm we had the roof suffered some damage. Not so much that I had to get a new roof right away. So I did what any other normal person would do and called to have someone come out. I mean that is what you are suppose to do right?

I ended up feeling stupid because he asked me questions that I couldn’t answer. I mean he wanted to know what kind of roof did I want. One that works is what I almost said. Okay I do know there are different kinds of roofing and while I loved a tin roof I have a few of lighting hitting it and well you can guess where I’m going with that. After he left I thought I need to do some research and I came across Rio Blanco Roofing.

They aren’t in my area but I was able to get a lot of very useful information on their site. I learned that the roofing I want is asphalt shingle and that it will work for me. I called back the guy and he wasn’t helpful at all. So maybe it was just them. I called someone else who came out today and actually brought me samples to look at. I pick just what I wanted and am now scheduled to have it put on next week.

What all of this taught me is that I should have done more research prior to calling the first guy. I knew that and yet I just wanted the work done so that I wouldn’t have to worry about it becoming a bigger problem. I won’t be cutting corners in the future I can tell you that right now. When I need something large done like the roof I am going to do all of the research I need to do. That way I can make in informed decision.

I don’t blame you. I am sure that is costly but it has to be done. I wouldn’t cut corners either! We rent our house so I don’t have to worry about that.
