I know that when you saw the title you are thinking it has free in there so how is there a giveaway but i promise I will get to that in just a few minutes. Do any of you or your children play the piano? I learned when I was younger although I haven’t played in years. While I can teach most things playing the piano is something I cannot teach (along with typing) because I learned to play “my way” which is not really the proper way. My way tends to confuse others.

Apps by Sanoen Your Kids Will Love

The first app is To the Farm! which is a multilingual app that is great! It has six different languages available which include; English, Spanish, French, German, Catalan, and Mandarin. The app is really cute and I love that there are 5 modes to read the ebooks in. Even though To the Farm! is suggested for ages 0-5 it really is more of where your child is at as opposed to an age thing. If your 2 year reads better than a 5 year then this will be perfect but if your 5 years reads like a 10 year old this may be a bit young for them.

Back to School with the Boys and Girls Club of America

Back to School

Back to school season is here and we all  spend a lot of time getting ready for the big day. Everyone prepares their children in different ways. We start by getting them back onto their school schedule a few weeks before we start classes again. The schedule consists mostly of waking them up and having them go to bed at the times that they would have to during the school year. By starting a few weeks ahead of time we are able to ease them back into the routine.

Wave For Change and Education {#WaveforChange}

Neutrogena Wave For Change

Neutrogena cares about education and through their Wave For Change program they are helping millions of students reach their potential but before I tell you about the program I want to share with you the day I learned about what education was truly all about. It happened in, what was at the time, the most embarrassing way but it is a lesson that has stuck with me all these years. I was in the fourth grade and at a new school when I wrote a paper that I received an A+ on. The teacher had written “Great Job!” across the top and I was so very proud of myself.  I showed to my mom who congratulated me but the person I wanted to sow it to the most was my dad.  When he came home I gave it to him and he read it then looked at me and said I need to meet with your teacher. I remember being devastated and heartbroken. I wanted him to be proud but it was obvious something was wrong.

5K Learning

I homeschool both of my children, it’s not that I think public schools are horrible or anything it’s just that through homeschool they have learned more and are much more advance than some of their peers. A couple of subjects that they have had trouble with in the past and that we concentrate on are math and reading. We work hard but I was really looking for something they could do on their own and learn. They hate when I hover!
