It’s Friday which means it’s time for Friday Cocktails! We have been having so much fun just visiting sites and disconnecting. Where are the pictures you ask? Well, I may post some on social media but truthfully I told myself that I would only take pictures for us to remember as a family. I would not spend the entire time we are together worrying about getting pictures to post or anything technical. Just to live in the moment.
As mucha s I love being able to work online I can’t help but remember my childhood where we didn’t have phones and social media. Yet the memories I have are some of the fondest ones ever. The last two weeks have flew by and on Monday the kids will be with their father while I will be off to spend some time on my own however we are camping this weekend.
SOLO VACATION
It is not as bad as most think it is. I have no plans set in stone in what I will be doing. I am taking the time to recharge. I know many of you are thinking I had a whole year with the pandemic shutting everything down. The truth is 2020 and the first part of 2021 was rough for us. With Sam’s illness and everything else I was stressed to the limit. I need the time to center myself and reconnect with myself.
CAMPING WITH KIDS
I sway easier than you may think. Kids love camping because it means they don’t have to bath as much and they can get dirty. At least that is one of the reasons why mine love it. I don’t force them to take a bath every single night that we camp. Although they do get a wash off and all the important parts get cleaned. I carry wipes for this purpose and they just love it. I myself go down and bath because well, gross.
I hated camping when I was younger. I had a bad experience and took years for me to be okay with it. If camping is not your thing but you would like to give it a try I suggest that you start out small. Maybe camp in your garage one Saturday night. That way you are sort of camping and still under cover. Then progress to your backyard and then out into a camping site. That is what I did and it worked.

NEVER. Sounds terribly boring, not to mention lonely; eating alone, not sharing conversation; very sad, if you ask me.
I have taken MANY solo vacations; the ones who think it’s “sad” are missing out. Its a wonderful way to force yourself to grow – to converse with others, if you’re shy, to learn to rely on yourself, learn to trust yourself, and be comfortable with being by yourself.
